Kids in Pico Rivera have a new place to go after school and during summer break. The new Boys and Girls Club of Pico Rivera Clubhouse had its grand opening earlier this week, housed at the El Rancho Youth Center, 9115 Balfour St., in Pico Rivera. The new clubhouse is meant to be a place where any youth can find 'safety and encouragement.' The new youth center was made possible by a $300,000 grant from Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn, which covered necessary renovations to the building – an unused 3,200 square foot building adjacent to Ruben Salazar Continuation School.
